Unless you've been in a coma or a cave lately, you probably know there is drama in the world of stand up comedians lately.  One might think Dismost made and dropped I'm No Comedian to time it with Kat Williams.  But when you hear the depth he goes into dissecting the lives of so many comedians, and breaking down cancel culture and its effect on stand ups, it's clear this song is even more than jumping on a bandwagon.  It's a 20/20 lens into an archetypal character that is an integral part of the culture.

The song came about when the slap happened.  When the slap happened I just kept thinking how it would have gone down different if that was me and not a comedian.

Then I saw a clip of Joe Joe Dancer and I was saying to myself like, damn comedians, just because they be laughing and jokin and shit, they lives be fucked up.  They always telling jokes and laughing to keep from crying and dying.  So those thoughts are what sparked this song.

This is the first single to drop off the first full length album of Dismost's career.  He's certainly made many albums-worth of songs over the years.  But they have been features or material that got stuck in the hands of other people on the project.  Everybody has their own lane.  This is a big. deal.
